Southwest Florida
World-Class Fishery
Southwest Florida has been known to anglers for hundreds of years as a premiere saltwater fishing destination. As fishing has increased in popularity, many anglers have come to realize that the Everglades is one of the best places in the world to fish year-round.
The Everglades is a vast area that contains both freshwater and saltwater. The Everglades drains into the Gulf of Mexico in Southwest Florida. It is this saltwater area of the Everglades that we focus our efforts.
Southeast of Naples to Marco Island lie the towns of Everglades City and Chokoloskee. It is here where the north entrance to the Everglades National Park exists, and where we will begin your Everglades fishing adventure.
The Everglades is also home to the 10,000 Islands — a vast network of mangrove islands, channels, and flats that provide incredible habitat for a wide variety of fish species. This unique ecosystem is what makes Everglades fishing so special.

Year-Round Fishing
November – March
Cold fronts bring cool temperatures and wind, keeping fish on the move and eager to take an easy meal. Between fronts, the winds subside and fish feed aggressively.
Some of the best fishing of the year occurs during winter, but book early as it is the busiest season. Snook, redfish, and trout are all excellent targets. Tarpon begin showing up in late winter.
April – October
Calmer, more stable winds and plentiful bait. Tarpon migrate through in good numbers from April through June. The fishing can be off the charts good.
Not seeing another boat on the water is a legitimate possibility in summer. Snook are spawning on the beaches and passes. Sharks, goliath grouper, and cobia are also excellent summer targets.
Target Species
Season: Year-round, peak spring/fall
The marquee inshore species of Southwest Florida. Snook are aggressive, powerful fighters that love mangrove shorelines and structure. One of the most sought-after gamefish in the Everglades.

Season: April – June (peak migration)
The 'Silver King' — one of the most spectacular gamefish in the world. Tarpon migrate through the Everglades from April through June in impressive numbers, offering world-class fly and light tackle opportunities.

Season: Year-round, peak fall/winter
Redfish (Red Drum) are a staple of Everglades fishing. They love shallow flats and mangrove edges, and can be sight-fished on calm days. Hard fighters that are excellent table fare.

Season: Year-round
The Everglades is home to several shark species including bull, nurse, lemon, and blacktip. Shark fishing is exciting for all ages and provides some of the most memorable moments on the water.
